In a recent interview with Variety, Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick promised that Grand Theft Auto VI will deliver “a massive, unmatched entertainment experience.” His statement echoes the company’s earlier comments following the game’s previous delay — reinforcing that Rockstar is fully focused on quality over deadlines.
Zelnick elaborated on the studio’s ambition, saying:
“Our goal is to release the most extraordinary work anyone has ever seen in the history of entertainment. It’s a huge ambition, and in this case, Rockstar Games believes that a limited amount of extra time is required for polishing to support that goal.”
According to Zelnick, Rockstar has the full backing of Take-Two Interactive, ensuring the developers have all the time and resources needed to perfect GTA 6. Despite recent layoffs across parts of the company, Zelnick clarified that these staffing changes are not the reason behind the delay.
He emphasized that the additional time is an investment in excellence — to make sure Grand Theft Auto VI not only meets expectations but surpasses everything the entertainment industry has seen so far.
As anticipation continues to rise, one thing is clear: Rockstar and Take-Two are positioning GTA 6 not just as a video game, but as a cultural event — a groundbreaking experience designed to redefine what interactive entertainment can be.
